Almighty Man

Just who am I to have the power
To decide who lives or dies?
Be it for some noble cause
or convenient alibis.

I have lived a life of variety
with countless changing scenes,
but never once did I behold
an end to justify this means.

I have let my want be the goal
of so many of my choices.
I have closed my ears, so as not to hear
the need in other voices.

It will be said, by the living and dead,
his fate was his selection.
He knew the way, and saw the truth,
but still did not seek perfection.

So here I stand, Almighty Man,
In all my majesty,
only to know, how much I will glow,
depends entirely on me.
